...Rudy gets KO'd....

He deserves it. This past week he pulled a Bush and Cheney move by saying that a terrorist would happen in the Dems take the White House. This fear tactic didn't work for the midterms because the American people saw through it and so for him to try it now is to say the least, idiotic.

Although it tooks years to plan 9/11 happened under the Republicans watch so why would anyone think of them as being great protectors. When I saw Republicans I'm including Rudy. He did nothing to prepare the city for a terrorist attack and he had eight years. The command center was in the WTC! Yes, the same WTC that was attacked in '93 and despite being told to move the location of the command center somewhere else he didn't. Now, the first-responders are dying of cancer and respiratory infections because of his incompetence.

I could not care less that he's socially liberal like I am. He's proven that he's no better or different than Bush and Co.

.....Jon v. John.........

Last night John McCain aka Pandering Prick went on the Daily Show to have his ass kindly handed to him by my dearest Jon. It's moment like this that I wish the Stewart/Colbert ticket was prophetic instead of comedic. As the Twit on The view said, McCain is wiling to lose the election in order to win this war...then he might as well flush those millions of dollars he's raised down the toilet.

....Ghost of a Maverick..........

I wrote another poem but this one is about a certain presidential candidate. And yes, I know I was rough on him but he deserves it. Looking back, I don't know what I saw in him...

Ghost of a Maverick
It’s sad what seven years can do
You used to be fair and true
Never hiding what you truly believed
But your goal wasn’t achieved
Now, you’re spewing talking points
Hoping to be the one that they’ll appoint
Although you try to deny
You know you’re living a lie
Back then, you were a maverick
But now, you’re just another pandering prick

...How Can They?...

This is a poem I just wrote about the 30%ers (those who still support Bush).

How can they close their eyes?
Then dare to defend
All his blatant lies
And support a war with no end
How can they stand by this man?
This "cowboy", so reckless and wild
He can’t relate or understand
How it's like to bury his child
And he says, “We must win”
That our only option is “victory”
As he ignores a soldier’s coffin
How can they not see?
What he’s done to this great land
Turning us into the world’s enemy
With blood on our hands
And not showing our humanity
How can they ignore
Him taking our rights away
Do they even care anymore?

.....Pink and the President....

Pink has a song titled "Dear Mr. President" which directly address President Bush in a courageous and eloquent manner. She has an amazing voice and the lyrics are painfully beautiful.

"Dear Mr. President"
(feat. Indigo Girls)

Dear Mr. President
Come take a walk with me
Let's pretend we're just two people and
You're not better than me
I'd like to ask you some questions if we can speak honestly

What do you feel when you see all the homeless on the street
Who do you pray for at night before you go to sleep
What do you feel when you look in the mirror
Are you proud

How do you sleep while the rest of us cry
How do you dream when a mother has no chance to say goodbye
How do you walk with your head held high
Can you even look me in the eye
And tell me why

Dear Mr. President
Were you a lonely boy
Are you a lonely boy
Are you a lonely boy
How can you say
No child is left behind
We're not dumb and we're not blind
They're all sitting in your cells
While you pay the road to hell

What kind of father would take his own daughter's rights away
And what kind of father might hate his own daughter if she were gay
I can only imagine what the first lady has to say
You've come a long way from whiskey and cocaine

How do you sleep while the rest of us cry
How do you dream when a mother has no chance to say goodbye
How do you walk with your head held high
Can you even look me in the eye

Let me tell you bout hard work
Minimum wage with a baby on the way
Let me tell you bout hard work
Rebuilding your house after the bombs took them away
Let me tell you bout hard work
Building a bed out of a cardboard box
Let me tell you bout hard work
Hard work
Hard work
You don't know nothing bout hard work
Hard work
Hard work
Oh

How do you sleep at night
How do you walk with your head held high
Dear Mr. President
You'd never take a walk with me
Would you

.....Another Candle on the Cake..........

In the words of Chi chi Rodriguez, today I was birthed :)I know that this is supposed to be my day but when I think about the number of candles on my cake, my mind drifts to our troops. Most of them are my age and they have probably celebrated one, two even three of their birthdays in a war zone instead of with their families and friends. Some of them won't have opportunity to do so because they'll either come home in a flag covered coffin or their tour will be extended.

And for what? A President that can't admit to his own mistakes. Instead of trying to put to an end to this war he's going to push it off onto the next president. His own party continues to throw around words "defeat", "embolden our enemies", and "victory" when in their hearts they know that this war has been lost. The only one who has said it, albeit in a Freudian slip, is John McCain - yet they press on with the same rhetoric.

Even though it pains me to admit this, the Dems can't break the president on this and so, we'll have to wait until 2008 to bring our troops home. At least then this war will belong to the President's and his party.

So before I blow the candles on my cake surrounded by my loved ones, I'll think of those who aren't as fortunate.

....Thanks to the 'Liberal Media'....

Unlike Vietnam, this country has been shielded from this war. We don't see video footage of fallen troops coming home in flag covered coffins and amputees. Up until now, we had no idea what Iraq is really like for our troops. While they're fighting for their lives our president tells us to live ours and shop. Well thanks to 'Liberal' MSNBC and Richard Engels, we now know the reality that our troops and journalists deal with in Iraq.

It's utter chaos wrapped in pure horror. There are constant bombings, body parts and corpses are scattered in the streets. Bodies are tied to vehicles and are dragged while Iraqis cheer and run alongside this morbid act. Iraqi families don't want to leave their homes because they fear of not coming back. Their orphanages are filled with children who are either orphans or their parents gave them up hoping to save their lives. And unfortunately, the Iraqi government doesn't allow international adoption. These children have not benefited from this war.

Richard Engels and MSNBC's cameras gave us a peek into what they (and to a lesser extent, the troops) experienced in Iraq. They switched hotels two times because they had been bombed. And every time Richard or his fellow journalist set foot into the streets they ran the risk of being killed, kidnapped or both. One of their own reporters were kidnapped but thankfully he was released unharmed. However, their trust with one of their Iraqi employees was broken because this young man had faked his own kidnapping in hopes of extorting money from Richard and MSNBC. His life was so dire that he didn't think twice of betraying a group of people that cared and provided for him but they were Americans - the enemy - so it wasn't difficult for him to do.

The interesting part of the documentary is Richard's personal confessions that he had taped himself. He saw horrific images like dead bodies in the streets being eaten by dogs. Bullets came through his hotel room windows. His marriage fell apart because he was living in a war zone while his wife was back home picking out curtains. He was almost kidnapped.

Richard is only a reporter, I can't fathom what the troops go through. We're putting them in danger and for what? Democracy? That's not going to happen because the fighting between the Sunnis and Shia has existed for hundreds of years and the only guy that knew how to keep both of them in their respective corners..he's dead. The longer we occupy the country; the number of dead Iraqis will eventually trump Saddam's body count. Our Troops weren't sent there to police a civil war yet that's what they're doing. If the Iraqis really wanted democracy they would have done so by now and they haven't because like Siamese fighting fish they're not going to stop until one of them are annihilated.

As I was watching this powerful documentary I just knew that I would NEVER see this on "Fair and Balanced" Fox News. Because despite what they and their followers say, they are so far from being a news organization especially since Rupert Murdoch admitted their bias. The Walter Reed story didn't come from them, the New York Post, or the Washington Times, it was the "Liberal" Washington Post. Fuck Fair and Balanced and give me so-called 'Liberal Bias' because at least then, I'd get the truth.
